Open House

Two sessions in May to allow previous riders a chance to re-familiarize themselves with the track and receive feedback before choosing a stream for participation. There will be no cost for participation or track bike rentals for the open house. Next session May 27 2:15- 4:00pm

Open Training

These unstructured training sessions are opportunities for riders from affiliated clubs to ride the velodrome. These sessions will be self-led, but assistance and instruction can be available for those who would like it. 

Prerequisite: Learn to Ride or approval from velodrome staff.

Club Training

Time booked for a specific club for its members. Clubs are responsible for programming and coaching with minimal assistance from AVA facility staff. However, staff are expected to be present and "around" outside as much as possible for M-Th sessions. Most clubs have made regular bookings.

Learn to Ride

For new track riders, over 4 weeks they will learn safe bike handling skills, develop riding ability and become a safe participant in group training activities. Track bikes provided with cage pedals. Prior bike riding experience encouraged, but prior road racing experience NOT required. 4-week commitment is expected of participants.

Cost: $50 for the 4 session series.

Race Refresh

Opportunity for riders to to refresh racing fundamentals prior to Thursday night Track League.

Cost: $10/session, $100/series

Prerequisite: Learn to Ride or approval from velodrome staff

Endurance

Inter-club time to ride in a paceline (10-mile) at a pace that gradually progresses over the summer. Warm-up for first 45 minutes, then paceline starts. Some supervision and assistance from facility staff. Drop-in cost for public/cyclist from non-tenant clubs. Riders are expected to know how to safely ride in a track paceline and appropriately control their speed when needed.

Track League 

Same as in past years. Races start at 7:00pm, warmup at 6:00pm. Riders separated into A/B/C ability categories and promoted or relegated at the discretion of commissaires. Schedule of races allows weekly variation in event type and duration, some progression over the summer. Racers are expected to have completed prior lessons at the velodrome and have coach approval, or prior Track League experience.
